Description: The Marula tree is a medium-sized dioecious tree, indigenous to the Miombo woodlands of Southern and West Africa. Considered one of Africa’s botanical treasures, the Marula tree has a long history in African culture. The raw materials for the oil are harvested and pressed by community collectives of mostly women. Semi-solid at ambient temperatures, immersion in a hot-water bath will bring it to a liquid state.

Color: Pale yellow to golden yellow stratified semi-solids.

Aromatic Description: Marula has a slight oily scent that can change based on the growing season and when the fruit was harvested (spring and fall).

Common Uses: Rich in antioxidant and essential fatty acids, Marula Carrier Oil has been found to significantly improve skin hydration, softness and smoothness. It absorbs well through the skin and is excellent as a massage oil on its own or in a blend.
